Red Hill Late Lunch

We had a really late start one weekend day and needed grub. We ended back at Red Hill, which was technically closed for lunch but they must've seen the hunger in our eyes and kindly squeezed us in!





We ordered the Fettuccine Carbonara and Mole Breakfast Muffin. They were a tad heavy handed with the mole which frankly, was way too spicy for me. Our waiter graciously offered a different dish: the Everything Bagel, which was absolutely perfect. He also recommended a couple of delicious wines too. It's funny, this was our 2nd time he served us and both times he said he thought he served us at his former work. The camera tipped him off. But I said it was impossible since we've never been to the restaurant he used to work. Hmm...you think there is a doppelganger couple out there also snapping food photos? Anyway, we've already been back another time since this day and can't wait to go again. Tasty.



P.S. Be careful where you park nearby. If you didn't snag one of the three spots in their lot, go to Walgreens or Sunset.

Breathe.

I wish I were here instead of where I am right now.

It's good to always have something to look forward to.

Chado Tea Room - Pasadena

I took Betsy out to Chado Tea Room in Pasadena to celebrate her big birthday. We are so fancy.



I couldn't resist Instagramming the pretty card before I gave it to her.

Perspective

It was such a perfect moment during the drive home after a tough day at work.

Linda Tang's Wedding

It was a beautiful ceremony in Temecula and a really fun party with nine (!!!) wines to choose from. I caught up with a bunch of people and even danced a little. I've known Linda a long time and it makes me so glad to see her so incredibly happy.



They really do seem like the best match.

Parker Palm Springs - Norma's

We finally made it for brunch at Norma's, Parker Palm Springs! The hotel is amazingly beautiful. Every square inch is so wonderfully coiffed, lovely and heavenly....

Espresso Almond Milk Tea

This drink is quite the kickstart with both espresso and black tea so sip wisely. I don't drink caffeine often so I for one get kinda jittery after this. But I do love the flavor so much.

• Brew your fave espresso
• Brew your fave black tea - I prefer Earl Grey or English Breakfast
• Heat up unsweetened almond milk 
• Combine milk and tea - about 1:1 ratio. 
• Pour your preferred number of espresso shots into milk tea mixture.
• Sugar to taste
• Dash of cinnamon if you like (I like lots of cinnamon) 

 

Have Hoop Will Travel

Sergio ordered a hula hoop for me and it finally arrived last weekend. Sparkly, purple, sprinkled with the moon and the stars -- it's beautiful. And it's collapsible.

We lit a lot of incense this year. The roasted pig was also one of the best. The cemetery was the most crowded I had ever seen. You can't really tell from the photos but it was bumper to bumper getting in and along all the paths inside. Highway patrol was on hand directing traffic. It was a lovely day though.

Tomboy Style by Lizzie Garrett

Myrtle in Echo Park had Tomboy Style by Lizzie Garret a little early so I got to snap up a copy before today's official release date. I pored over each iconic image with a short cocktail and raindrops drumming the rooftop. It is such a pretty book. I think I need a little more rebel and adventure into my life.

Micio ain't as pretty as Mia but she's got a ton of personality -- and a lot of it shows right on her funny face. Sometimes just looking at a picture of that puss causes me to guffaw aloud.
