The light was amazing. Shafts of sun shooting through the gray, hitting the raindrops still sliding off our front yard hibiscus. I did snap these with a bit of fill flash. I wanted that crispness I felt in the air. The dreamy final photo below reminds me of Fantasy Island. If you look closely, you'll see that just the three fat droplets perched on the lip of the nearest petal are in focus. Similar effect with the peach bloom.I uploaded these full size so you can see the gorgeous texture of the petals and the gloss on the leaves.
