No plumbing,Taxes, eating out and Death Race.

Saturday morning, I wake up and go shower after Sergio's already ready. I'm almost done when he yells through the window, "Stop!!"
(Hmmm...)"What? Why?"
"It's leaking?!"
(Sad face.) "It's leaking?" (As if I really doubted what he was saying.)
"YES. Stop! It's leaking again!"
More phone calls to various plumbers. More waiting. I've decided that working indoor plumbing is one of the best inventions ever. I suppose, next to the microchip and fire. I think having working indoor plumbing is more important than having a nice big bed, a gas stove, TV, computer...seriously. Having to "hold it" through the night so I can visit the facilities at my parents' house in the morning is really inconvenient. It's a good thing I'm not a middle-of-the-night pee-er.

Ok. I'll stop complaining now. This is small potatoes comparatively.

On the way to visit Tom the Tax Guy to amend our taxes, we stop for gas at the station on the corner of Eagle Rock Blvd. and W. Ave. 40. That is one swanky station. There is music piped to the pumps and a nice wine selection inside. Weird and funny. I always avoided this station because of its higher prices (come on, every PENNY counts). But now I kind of like it. I wish I remembered to bring my camera inside.

Later, we visit the Coffeetable, yet again. (seriously, I think we eat here way too much.) I tried to convince Sergio that Taco Spot would be perfect because I really wanted a breakfast burrito. He is still Mexican fooded out from a couple weeks ago and, it wasn't open yet. Lo and behold, a scrambled egg and cheddar breakfast burrito on the Coffeetable menu.

We can't convince anyone to come out to check on our plumbing which means another shower stop at M&D's. I don't want them to feel like they need to cook dinner for us, so we eat first.

Kim's Kitchen in Glendale is a tiny Korean restaurant on Colorado. It's got a 4 spot parking lot in the back. We really dig it. It's never full but always busy. Looks like they do good take-out business too.

Then, we watched Death Race. We had netflixed it way before we had even moved. It's been sitting around, shuffled from my parent's house to our house ever since. It was a blu-ray disc so no point in us having it with us.

I didn't hate it like I thought I would. It was wonderfully over the top. Crazy violent with head decapitation and everything. Tyrese goes by his full name now. Joan Allen's face was oddly bloated looking. And Jason Statham's body was, ummm.... wow.

  1. I have to say I agree, indoor plumbing is one of the things I love most, next to food and sleep of course. It is also one of the reasons I hate camping, if there is no toilet or shower, why go?
