Moving along...

So about that quirky Mt. Washington. They countered. We countered. They stood firm. We blinked.

Meanwhile, it looked like maybe that first Mt. Washington house was back. Sort of? The other buyers were being kind of difficult, asking for repairs, etc. The relocation company that owned the property didn't care for this. We scrambled to up our offer. The relocation company countered back to the other buyers - take it or leave it. Remove all contingencies or walk away. We were hoping they wanted to walk away. But...not the case. I guess the buyers loved it as much as we did. They had been out there dozens of times already, even bringing in a designer.

They removed all contingencies. Hopes dashed. Sigh.

Meanwhile, the escrow on our house seemed to be going ok. The inspection was a little rough. The guy seemed to be picking out every single thing, even making misstatements!

Loose paraphrase conversation:
"Oh this tankless water heater is over 10 years old. It needs to be serviced."
"We installed it and we've been here less than 7 years."
"Well I know this serial number says it's over 10."
"Not possible. We installed it."
"Oh, well, maybe it could be between 6 and 10 years old."
I mean, really?

We would have to give the buyer some credits.
